     Qatar is located in the Middle East.  It borders Saudi Arabia.  Once Qatar was a poor British Principality, but today it has a leading economy that can rival Western European countries!  Qatar is 11,437 square kilometers, or slightly smaller then Conneticut.   Qatar is arid; mild, with plesant winters, and very hot and humid summers.  The terrain of Qatar is mostly a flat and barren desert covered with loose gravel and sand. Because of this sandstorms and dust storms are common; along with haze.  The natural resources of Qatar are fish, natural gas, and petroleum.
     People in Qatar tend to live til the age of 73.14 years (on average).  40% of Qatar is Arab, 18% is Pakistani, another 18% is Indian, 10% are Iranian, and 14% other.  95% of Qatar is Muslim.  Arab is Qatar's official language, but Enligh is commonly spoken as a second language. The literacy rate for Qatar is 82.5%.
     Qatar is a traditional monarchy.  Qatar's full name is the State of Qatar.  Qatar has no international disputes.
