16 Cygni B is about 85 light-years away from the earth.  16 Cygni B is a lot like the sun in mass and its temperature, but what is unusual is that 16 Cygni B rotates around another star.  This star is brighter and bigger.  The name of this star is 16 Cygni A.

There is a planet that orbits 16 Cygni B.  The name of that planet is 16 Cygni B b.  It is too dim to be visible on earth, but astronomers used an indirect method of finding the planet.   16 Cygni B b is 1.5 times more massive then Jupiter, and takes only 2.2 earth years to rotate once around 16 Cygni B.  The orbit of 16 Cygni B b is that of an oval so it comes near the planet, but also drifts far away from the planet.
