    Russias capital is Moscow.  The largest city in Russia is Moskva, with a population of about 8.75 million people.  The climate of Russia is very varied.  We have steppe in the South, humid continental in the Europe side, Sub-arctic in Siberia, to tundra climate in the northern Polar Regions.  Winters vary from cool along the coast of the Black Sea to frigid in Siberia.  Summers vary from warm in the steppes to cool along the Arctic Coast.  The average temperature in January is a cool 18.3F, and the average temperature 61F.  Russia receives an average of 24.8 of rain a year.  82% of Russia is Russian, 7% other, 4% Tatar, 3% Ukrainian, and each of these ethnic groups are 1%:  Chuvash, Bashkir, Moldavian, and Byelorussian.  Because of such a variety of people no religion is very dominant, though the main religions are Russian Orthodox, Muslim, and other.  

  Next we move onto Estonia whose capital and largest city is Tallinn with a population of about 386,100 people.  The climate of Estonia is Maritime, wet, with moderate winters, and cool summers.  The average temperature in January is 22.6F and in July the average temperature is 61.7F.  Estonia receives an annual average of 22.3 of rain.  65% of Estonia is Estonians, followed by 28% Russians, 6% of Ukrainian, other, and   Byelorussian, and last but not least 1% is Finn.  Estonias religions are not available.

  Next is Latvia, whose capital and largest city is Riga, with a population of about 725,200.  The climate of Latvia is Maritime; with wet, moderate winters.  The average temperature in January is 23.2F and the average temperature in July is 63.5F.  Latvia receives an average of 22.4 of rain a year.  57% of Latvia is Latvians, followed by 30% being Russians, 4% Byelorussian, and 9% being other, Ukraine, and Polish.  Latvias religions are also not available.

  After Latvia we move onto Lithuania whose capital and largest city is Vilnius with a population of 555,500 people.  The climate of Lithuania is Maritime; with wet, moderate summers and winters.  The average temperature in January is 28.4F and the average temperature in January is 60.08F.  Lithuania receives an average rainfall of 32.5 a year.  In Lithuania they speak Lithuanian, Polish, and Russian.  90% of Russia is either Russian or Lithuanian, followed by 7% Polish, 2% other, and 1% Byelorussian. Lithuania also did not have their religions percent available.

  Next is Belarus whose capital and largest city is Minsk, which has a population of about 1.75 million people.  The climate of Belarus is a Transitional between Maritime and Continental.  They have cold winters and cool, wet summers.  The average temperature in January is 19.6F and the average temperature in July is 63.3F.  Belarus receives an average of 26.7 of rain a year.  Belarus speaks Russian and Byelorussian. The main ethnic group of Belarus is Byelorussian with 78%, 13% being Russian, 4% Polish, 3% Ukraine, and 2% other.  80% of Belarus is Eastern Orthodox, and 20% of Belarus is Roman Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, or Muslim.

  Next is Moldova whose capital and largest city is Chisinau with a population of about 715,000 people.  The climate of Moldova is moderate winters, and warm summers.  The average temperatures were not available due to technical difficulties.  78% of Moldova is Moldovan, Romanian, or Ukraine.  13% of Moldova is Russian, followed by 4% of Gagauz, and 6% being other, Jewish, or Bulgarian.  98% of Moldova is Eastern Orthodox and 2% is Jewish.

  Next is Ukraine whose capital and largest city is Kiev (Kyiv) with a population of about 2.6 million people.  The climate of Ukraine is a Temperate Continental; winters vary from cool along the Black Sea to cold in the in-land areas; summers are warm along most of the country and hot in the south.  The average temperature in January in Ukraine is 21.0F and the average temperature in July is 68.7F.  Ukraine receives about an average of 23.6 of rain a year.  Ukraine has no official language.  About 73% of the country is Ukrainian, 22% Russian, 4% other, and 1% Jewish.  Ukraine also does not have religious information of their people available.
