   In this issue you will learn about the rest of South America. Venezuela as a population of about 23.5 million people, its largest city is Maracaibo with a population of 1.8 million people. Even though Maracaibo is the largest city in Venezuela the capital is Caracas, Caracass population is about 1.75 million people.  The official language in Venezuela is Spanish. Venezuelas climate is hot, humid, and tropical and cooler in the highlands. The average temperature in Venezuela is 66.2F in January and is 69.8F in July.  96% of Venezuela is Nominally Roman Catholic.

  Brazils population is about 176.25 million people; its largest city is Sao Paolo with a population of about 10 million people. Brazils capital, Brasilia, isnt one of the top three biggest cities in Venezuela.  Brazils official language is Portuguese, although there are over 195 indigenous languages, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Baltic languages are spoken in Brazil. Brazils climate is mostly tropical but temperate in the south. The average temperature is 70.2F in January and 65.1F in July.  The main origin of most Brazilians is European, but 25% of Brazilians are Mulatto, mixed European and African, or Mestizo, mixed European and Indigenous. 80% of Brazil is Roman Catholic, while 20% is other.

  Next we move onto Bolivia which has a population of about 8.5 million people with its largest city Santa Cruz having a population of about 1.1 million. La Paz is Bolivias official capital with a population of about 800.5 thousand.  Bolivias official languages are Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara. Bolivias climate varies with altitude; humid and tropic to cold and semiarid.  Bolivias average temperature is 49.8F in January and is 44.4F in July.  60%of Bolivias population is Mestizo and Quechua. 95% of Bolivias religion is Roman Catholic.

  Next we move onto Paraguay. Paraguays population is about 6 million, with its largest city being Asuncion. Asuncions population is about 500.5 thousand. Paraguays official language is Spanish. The climate is subtropical with substantial rainfall in the eastern portions, becoming semiarid in the west. The average temperature in Paraguay is 82.4F in January and 64.4F in July. 95% of Paraguays population is Mestizo. 90% of the population is Roman Catholic with 10% being other and Mennonite. Paraguay is one of two landlocked countries in South America.

  Next we move onto Uruguay. Uruguays population is about 3.5 million, with its largest city being Montevideo. Montevideos population is about 1.5 million, Montevideo is also Uruguays capital and is located on the coast.  There are no official languages in Uruguay, the most commonly spoken though are Spanish, Portunon, and Brazilero. The climate for Uruguay is a warm temperate, with freezing temperatures almost unknown.  The average temperature in January is 72.9F and in July is 51.4F. Uruguays annual rainfall is 1. 88% of Uruguays population is white, with 8% being Mestizo and 4% being black. 66% of the population is Roman Catholic and 30% is non-professing or other. With 4% being protestant or Jewish. 

  The next country is Guyana. Guyanas population is about 800.5 thousand.  The largest city is Georgetown with a population of about 250,000 people, Georgetown is also Guyanas capital.  Guyanas main language is English. The main climate of Guyana is tropical, general hot and humid with two rain systems. Guyana is also moderated by northeast trade winds. The average temperature in January is 79F and in July the average temperature is 79.9F.  Guyana receives an average of 90.1 of rainfall annually.  51% of Guyana is East Indian, 30% African, and 14% mixed, the rest are mixed. 50% of Guyana is Christian, 33% Muslim, and 8% Hindu.                                                          

The next country is Suriname with a population of about 400.5 thousand people.  Paramaribo is the largest city and capital with a population of about 210,000.  In Suriname they speak Dutch, English, Srangang Tongo, Hindustani, and Javanese. The climate in Suriname is mainly tropic and moderated by trade winds.  The average temperature in January is 79F and in July is 80.6F.  Surinames average rainfall is 8.2.  37% of Suriname is Hindustani, 31% Creole, 15% Javanese, 10% Maroons, and 7% other. The religions of Suriname are as follows 27% Hindu, 25% Protestant, 23% Roman Catholic, 20% Muslim, and 5% other religions.

  Argentinas population is about 36.5 million people with its capital and largest city being Buenos Aires. Buenos Airess population is about 13 million.  Argentinas official language is Spanish, but English, French, German, Italian, Arabic, Japanese, and indigenous languages such as Guarani, Quechuan, and Mataco are spoken. The climate for Argentina is mostly temperate, arid in the southeast, and subantarctic  in the southwest. Januarys average temperature is 70F and in Julys average temperature is 50F.  The average rainfall is 37.6.  90% of Argentina is European and 10% is other ethnic groups. 92% of Argentina is Roman Catholic, and 8% is other.
