Knights

As we all know knights are probably one of the most famous unit of history. Knights were usually leaders of a group or often in second command. The Knights would fight with swords at close range and had a well rounded armor grouping. It wasnt until around the Crusades that the Lance was invented as a weapon. The Lance was greatly used to easily defeat Pikemen and Spearmen as well as Militia and other sword units. The Lance was well rounded for it could easily hit an opponent and kill them and at the same time scatter the opponents making them easy pray for the Crossbowmen and Cavalry Archers. Knights were of course loyal to their leaders and would be the equal to a samurai's bravery. Knights almost always took the Cavaliers code and became Cavaliers. Knights were also used for melee attacks on opponents for they could quickly retreat and if needed they could stand and fight fairly well. Unfortunately without the invention of the lance knights would not fare as well due to Pikemen, Spearmen, and Halberdiers. The lance was usually longer than the Pikemen or Spearmens spears. Of course the Halberdiers spears were way to long for a lance and knights had a problem facing Halberdiers. Knights of course could try to out-maneuver Halberdiers and under the right terms win a battle with little to no effort. Knights were also well known for their tales of romance and adventure. Knights are good offensive units and also defensive units but usually lack range.
