Wollaston Lake
is lake in northeastern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is 70 miles (113 kilometers) long and 25 miles (40 kilometers) wide, with an area
of 1,035 square miles (2,681 square kilometers). Wollaston Lake
drains through two outlets. These outlets are the Fond
du Lac River that flows northwest to Lake
Athabasca and the Mackenzie River system. The other drainage area is northeastward via the Cochrane River
to Reindeer Lake and the Churchill River system.
Lake Wollaston was used as a link
between the two river systems after its discovery by Peter Fidler in about 1800. Lake
Wollaston is noted for its fishing industry.
