    Our first stop in this issue is Morocco, whose capital and second largest city is Rabat.  The largest city in Morocco is Dar-al-Bayda which has a population of about 3.34 million people. The total population of Morocco is about 29.89 million people.  The climate of Morocco is Mediterranean, and it is becoming more extreme in the interior parts of Morocco!  Moroccos average high for January is 54F, and the average temperature in July is 72.1F.  Morocco receives an average of about 21.2 of rain a year.  Arabic is the official language in Morocco, with French often used for business meetings.  95% of the country is of the Ethnic Division Arab-Berber.  The other 5% are Jewish or other.  99% of the country are Muslims and 1% Christians, with about .20% being Jews.

  Our second stop is Algeria, whose capital and largest city are Algiers, with a population of about 1.7 million people.  Algerias total population is about 32.67 million people.  The climate of Algeria is arid to semiarid; mild, wet winters with hot, dry summers along the coast; drier with cold winters and hot summers on the high plateau; sirocco is a hot, dust-laden wind especially in the summer.  The average temperature in January is 50.7F, and the average temperatures in July are 74.4F.  Algeria receives an average of 29.1 of rain a year.  83% of the country is Arab-Berber, 16% just Berber, and 1% European.  99% of the country is Sunni Muslim, and 1% of the country is Christian and Jewish.

  Our third stop is Tunisia whose capital and largest city is Tunis, with a population of about 696,700 people.  Tunisia has a population of about 9.77 million people.  The climate of Tunisia is temperate in the north with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers; desert in the south.  The average temperature in January in Tunisia is 50.7F, and the average temperature in July is 77.9F.  Tunisia receives an average of 17.6 of rain per year.  Arabic is the official language of commerce, and French is a common language in Commerce.  98% of the country is Arab-Berber, 1% European, and another 1% Jewish.  98% of the country is Muslim, 1% Jewish, and another 1% Christian.

  Our second to last stop in this article is Libya, whose capital and largest city is Tripoli, or also known as Tarabulus, with a population of about 1.23 million people.  Libyas total population is about 6.98 million people.  The climate of Libya is Mediterranean along the coast, with a dry and extreme desert interior.  The average temperature in January is 56.5F, and the average temperature in July is about 79.5F.  Libya receives an average of 10.7 of rain annually.  97% of the country is Berber and Arab, with 3% being Pakistanis, Turks, Indians, and Tunisians.  97% of the country is Sunni Muslim and 3% are other. 

  Egypt is the last country we visit in North Africa.  Egypt has a total population of about 67.78 million people.  The capital and largest city of Egypt is Cairo, whose population is about 7.75 million people.  The climate of desert; hot, dry summers with moderate winters.  The average temperature in January is 56.8F and the average temperature in July is 82.2F.  Egypt receives an average of 1.0 of inches of rain a year.  Arabic is the official language.  English and French are widely known though.  99% of the country is Eastern Hemitic and 1% is other.  90% are Muslim and 10% are Coptic Christian and other.
